Non-traditional IMC channels

Remember Qcodes?

Stuff that http://www.tagit.tv/ does.. Thats traditional already..

We now see bluetooth and infrared replacing Qcodes.. http://www.hypertag.com/User/Home.jsp

"A Hypertag is a new way of allowing you to access info and content on your mobile phone directly from objects like adverts and signs. It works by allowing infra-red or Bluetooth mobile phones, and PDAs (e.g. Palm Pilots or Pocket PCs) to interact with a small electronic tag which is attached to the advert or sign. To use the system, you enable the infra-red port on your mobile phone and point lights or switch on your Bluetooth and set your phone to discoverable. You wait a few seconds, and then a piece of content will be downloaded to your phone. This can be a word and number, a prompt to remind you of an important event, a picture, ring tone or game. "

An fun way to use it would be to have a treasure hunt of sorts..
Where you go to location to receive a blob of content which leads you to next one at a different location in the city..

Comments:
To experience one of Singapore's first such hypertagged posters, do visit the Bugis Mall. You will find a poster there that invites you to download a Gorillaz track - if you have a motorola phone(i think)
Enjoy!!
