Non-traditional IMC channels

Remember Qcodes?

Stuff that http://www.tagit.tv/ does.. Thats traditional already..

We now see bluetooth and infrared replacing Qcodes.. http://www.hypertag.com/User/Home.jsp
(source - Arun Nair)
"A Hypertag is a new way of allowing you to access info and content on your mobile phone directly from objects like adverts and signs. It works by allowing infra-red or Bluetooth mobile phones, and PDAs (e.g. Palm Pilots or Pocket PCs) to interact with a small electronic tag which is attached to the advert or sign. To use the system, you enable the infra-red port on your mobile phone and point lights or switch on your Bluetooth and set your phone to discoverable. You wait a few seconds, and then a piece of content will be downloaded to your phone. This can be a word and number, a prompt to remind you of an important event, a picture, ring tone or game. "

An fun way to use it would be to have a treasure hunt of sorts..
Where you go to location to receive a blob of content which leads you to next one at a different location in the city..

Interesting things you can do with Skype

1. Are you an Expert or professional? Are you a language teacher, tutor, translator, consultant, coach, Blogger or any other type of Expert whose time and expertise is in demand?

Here is how Skype can help you..

Check out http://www.jyvepro.com.
JyvePro is a Plugin system that enables anybody to charge for their time over a Skype call. You can convert Skype calls to paying calls on the fly.

1a. Do you know 2 or more languages? Provide interpreter services without leaving your desk..
The 2 parties intersted in conversing with each other include you in their conference. You can listen to one and then translate for the other (and vice versa).
of course, you could get paid for your time too if you want (using Jyve)
The parties could be calling in from landline or skype as well, while you could be online or redirect your skype calls to a landline/mobile phone.. quite flexible for all..

2. IVR (interactive voice response) software can be coupled with Skype to give access to network radios, weather/traffic reports, news, infomation etc..

Lots more skype apps and plugins @ http://share.skype.com/directory/productivity/

Any other new ideas dear readers??
